TOMOLAND x Ati Bachtiar - Lem Dungau (Ratu Adina & Ati Bachtiar)

Artwork Description
Art by Ati Bachtiar
Lem Dungau from the Dayak Kenyah Umaq Baha tribe does not know his exact age. It is estimated that he is in his 80s because he remembers seeing Japanese planes passing over his village, a small village in Sungai Urang, Tanjung Palas Sub-district, Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan.
He once had long ears and many earrings that touched his shoulders. However, in the 1970s, the earrings were removed, so the holes in her ears shrank. Similarly, none of her children or grandchildren want to continue the tradition of long ears that has lasted for hundreds of years.
